Hadley Steel Framing knew where to turn when they needed help with a tricky development of nine townhouses, close to the River Avon in Bristol. After nine years of collaborating on projects with key members of the CGS team, they already knew they could count on us to deliver.
Keeping local residents fully informed during the Lydstep Terrace development was vital, given the site lies within a highly-populated area, close to homes, with restrictive access to the site. Carrying out the work in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic was a huge challenge for everyone involved, but we followed very strict protocols to keep residents happy and workers save.
CGS supplied teams of no more than eight installers at any time, ensuring social distancing regulations were met, meaning any worries local people might have had were allayed and the project was completed on time and on budget in just 12 weeks. “We have an excellent working relationship with Hadley because myself, and the site managers have direct links into their business. This means we can ensure the design teams, the panel production, the transport and commercial teams all work seamlessly together,” said CGS Director Chris Martin.
“Time is money in business, and right now every penny counts. I have complete confidence that the team from CGS will deliver and that’s worth its weight in gold.”
“The other great benefit for Hadley is our project management and installation costs are a one-off cost and not a fixed cost to their business, so once construction is completed so is the cost to them,” said Chris.
The project was a big success for the developers RBH Properties, CGS, Hadley and their contractors Swinhay. The model worked really well and will be used again.
“At CGS we’re always looking for ways to give our clients better value for money and to work collaboratively with our partners.
“During this build, we learned even more about Hadley’s processes, around quality control, site handover and design. This means we will be one step ahead next time and able to work even more efficiently in the future,” said Chris.
